Mission Statement

Our Mission

The Boston Black Pre-Law Society exists to eliminate barriers and create pathways for Black students aspiring to legal careers. We are a student-led organization committed to ensuring that every member has access to the mentorship, resources, and community support necessary to navigate the competitive law school admissions process and succeed in the legal profession.

Our Vision

We envision a legal landscape where Black attorneys are not the exception but the expectation. By fostering excellence, building meaningful professional relationships, and providing tangible resources, we aim to increase Black representation across all areas of law and create a pipeline of empowered legal professionals who will transform the justice system.

What Drives Us

We recognize that the path to law school is often expensive, isolating, and filled with systemic obstacles. BPLS was founded on the belief that no student should face these challenges alone. Through peer mentorship, accessible LSAT preparation, professional development workshops, and connections to practicing attorneys, we create an ecosystem where aspiring Black lawyers can flourish. Our work is grounded in community, excellence, and a commitment to uplifting one another at every stage of the journey.

Our Core Values

  • We believe in the power of collective support. No one succeeds alone, and we create spaces where members can share knowledge, celebrate wins, and navigate challenges together.

  • We are committed to increasing Black representation in law schools and the legal profession, ensuring diverse voices shape the future of justice.

  • We hold ourselves and our members to high standards, providing resources and support that enable everyone to reach their full potential.

  • Quality LSAT prep, mentorship, and professional development should not be limited to those who can afford it. We work to make essential resources available to all our members.

  • We equip students with not just resources, but confidence, knowledge, and networks that transform aspiration into achievement.
